I am a beach loving girl despite living the desert and plains for most of my life, and from the moment I found out I was pregnant I had envisioning playing with my little one in the waves in sands. For some reason it’s been difficult for us to make it to the beach in the past two and half years since he was born. We have planned several beach trips, but somehow those always get canceled. Naturally when we were planning our trip to Savannah (see post here), I looked up the nearest beaches and found that there were several great options just a short drive away. We settled on spending two days in Hilton Head, South Carolina, so I could finally spend a day playing on the beach with the little one.
Hilton Head is a cute little beach town that is more family oriented than tourist oriented and is known for it’s beautiful beach facilities. No, the sand isn’t white and the water isn’t blue, but for an east coast beach it’s pretty good. The beach area is large and the entrance to the beach is the cutest I have ever seen. The entrance has large splash pad, followed by the four wooden changing cabanas next to the showers, and multiple raised porches that featured the traditional Southern wooden porch swings.
I’m happy to report the little one is a beach lover!
