I started Dresses & Denim a year and a half ago to help me establish my personal style as I re-did my closet, but now my wardrobe is done. I had a lot of fun blogging and learned a lot, but now it only seems right to have a blog that is more true to my lifestyle and talents. I’ll be launching A Modern Mom Blog soon, which will document my journey as young doctor, wife, and mommy. Please drop by there and say hello.
Thank you so much for following along my wardrobe make-over.
A cotton dress is the perfect summer clothing item for moms. It’s a cool fabric and resists wrinkles, so it’s perfect for play dates at the park and running errands. This t-shirt dress is from Gap ‘s spring collection last year, but I still wear it all the time. When I wore this outfit for a quick shopping trip at Up Town the Gap sales clerk stopped me and commented on how she loved the way I had styled it. I was so flattered, so of course I had to post pictures of the outfit here!
This preppy baseball cap has been on frequent repeat in my wardrobe. It’s an easy way to help hide my wind blown hair and it looks great with braids (seen here).
My hubby is convinced a cotton dress is only appropriate as pajamas, but what do guys know? A colorful belt at the waistline is key for making this cotton dress look a bit more structured and styled. I usually wear it with a pink belt, but decided to change it up and wear green instead.
I wore this outfit for a “mommy – little one day” as we call it. It’s the one day a week that I set aside to just do fun things with the little one. On this particular day we did a play date with our sweet friends, did a little window shopping, and played in the sprinklers in the yard. The cotton dress was perfect for staying cool and drying quickly after my little guy decided to turn the sprinkler directly on me.
