The Pretty Little Things

peplum shirt

Some days are just casual days spent doing nothing but playing with the little one and running a few errands. The life of a mommy isn’t always glamorous, but it’s usually fun! For those simple days I always turn to these distressed jeans that have just the right amount of spandex to make them super comfortable and some basic flats. Add a bit of pretty to the outfit with a floral top like this one and some dainty gold jewelry and what may be considered a frumpy mommy day doesn’t look so frumpy.

This particular day I didn’t wear make-up for most of the day and felt so special when my hubby turned to me and “I love how you look without make-up.  It’s so pretty and refreshing.” Those 2 sentences reminded me he still thinks I’m pretty despite 7 years of marriage, permanent bags under my eyes from med school and residency, and a few shapely changes after pregnancy.  It made my day!

Such a sweet comment from your husband! I love it when mine says things like that. You are gorgeous! 🙂 I love distressed denim because no matter what you pair it with, it always adds a little something and makes you feel cool.
