Don’t be fooled by the dreamy lighting of these pictures, this was one of the worst days we have had in a long time. On my morning run I got bit by dog. Then at our park play date the little one got stung by fire ants, and to top it off this sweet little boy who I thought was potty trained reverted back to needing diapers. By the time my hubby got home from work, I was barely holding it together (big baby, I know!). He suggested a walk, to get out and relax. I reluctantly agreed. We walked around and decided to hang out at this peaceful spot as the sun went down. Watching the little one happily flip over rocks, seeing the last flowers of summer, and watching the sky glow helped me put everything back into perspective. Yes, we had a bad day, but ultimately we have more blessings than we can count…..a beautiful healthy son (ant bites and all), a peaceful place to relax, a country that’s safe, and a hubby that loves me, mangled leg and all. Bad days will come and go, but we are blessed and grateful for these blessings.
Whenever we are having a bad day, I force myself to put on a decent outfit and do my hair and make-up. Outwardly being put together seems to help me emotionally keep it together. It’s clothes therapy at it’s best! For this day I choose my favorite distressed jeans that are so comfortable and paired it with my new pair of booties from Sole Society and a plaid shirt. This look is pretty much my fall uniform and will be on frequent repeat for the months to come.
I get tons of comments about this Dutch side braid and it is so quick and easy, so I did a quick little tutorial so you guys can do it too.
