Wind Blown

dressy casual summer outfit ideas

This fit and flare dress is probably my favorite dress ever and I got a great deal on it!  I am always admiring Neiman Marcus clothing, but the price tags always scare me away.  Even it’s super high quality, I just can’t bring myself to spend two hundred dollars on a summer dress.  One night when I was online shopping I happened upon Last Call, which is the discount website for Neiman Marcus.  As you can imagine I was super excited!  I bought three items that night, including this dress and have gone back and bought another five items because I was so impressed with the quality for the price.

I’ve worn this outfit twice in the past two weeks, so it was about time that it made on to the blog.  The first time I wore it was for wine sipping at a local vineyard with friends and the second time was for dinner with the hubby and little one on a super windy night.  The New Mexico spring winds are no joke!  They seriously blow up and down the arroyos (see the arroyos here) all morning and night.  Since I knew I would be fighting the wind on both occasions I opted for my favorite nude gladiator sandals over heels and added a cross body bag so my hands could be free to hold my hair back.

leather loafers
Block Heels

These won’t be everyone’s taste, but depending on the outfit you are wearing they can look fantastic. Chunky heals are all the rage and are also quite comfortable to wear.

For the ultimate in comfort and convenience consider buying some retro loafers. Even well known designers are selling loafers this year, although there are also more affordable shoes available.  There are loads of fabulous shoes which would be perfect for this spring’s fashion trends.
