Geek Chic with a Blazer

how to style a blazer casual

Last weekend we headed to my favorite spot in town, the botanical gardens. I could seriously spend every single day there and be happy! The gardens are segmented to represent different garden styles so there is tons to see (see more the gardens here, here, and here). This day we stayed in the picnic area, which is a huge patch of grass lined with large trees next to the pond.  Usually the little one isn’t very interested in the ducks, but this day he was fascinated by them and kept following them around, so we decided to wander the farm area too, so he could see more animals. park day pond casual chic outfit gray blazer striped t-shirt black skinny jeans metallic flats professional casual outfit professional casual outfit wind mill  casual chic fashion garden casual chic professional business outfit  Blazer // Jeans // Tee (sold out; similar) // Shoes // Hair Tutorial

It’s hard living with only boys because they take 3 minutes to get ready in the morning……throw on clothes, brush teeth, and maybe brush the hair……then go!  I, on the other hand, need way more than 3 minutes to get ready, but that doesn’t line up with the schedule.  On those days that I need to get ready quick I always wear glasses so I can skip on the eye make-up, throw my hair up in cotton candy bun, and pair a casual blazer with my favorite skinny jeans.  The combination makes me feel a bit geeky, but still very put together and most importantly it only takes about 10 minutes to achieve the look.

A casual blazer is a must for every wardrobe this time of year.  They are the perfect polished item that can easily be dressed up or down.  This one is perfect and only $35!

I totally understand that feeling. Boys don’t always get that we need more time! You look beautiful and I’d never guess you only spent 10 minutes!

Thanks, Sierra! Let’s hope we both get at least one girl, so we aren’t always pressured to get ready so fast by our hubbies and sweet little boys.

Now that I have a little girl it takes me even longer to get ready because I have to dress her first. Boys don’t take time at all. I agree that a blazer polishes up any look. Yours is a great knit blazer and I love the loafers and purse, Carly.

    Happy Hump Day! Ada. =)

You are so sweet! Thanks, Ada! I can imagine getting little girls ready takes more time, but I’m sure it’s fun to get to do their hair and pick out dresses
