Professional Color Block

Blazer: H&M // Turtleneck: Forever21 (old, similar) // Slacks: Charlotte Russe (old, similar) // Purse: Charming Charlie // Pumps: Calvin Klein // Earrings: Bauble Bar

I genuinely enjoy going to work most days and come home feeling good about what I have done, but it hasn’t always been that way.  I worked plenty of low end jobs to pay my way through college and of course most of my time in medical school and residency was miserable.  Seriously, who ever thought working 80 hours a week and spending two nights a week sleeping in the hospital while on call was a good idea?  It’s not…..let me just tell you.  Despite wearing scrubs for a good portion of my career, I have managed to accumulate quite a few pieces of professional clothes, so I thought I would share a few of my go to items for work.

What are your go to items for work clothes?

Happy Friday!

This is a great look, professional but not old and stuffy! Unlike most of my girlfriends, I actually like scrubs in that they alleviate the need to even think about an outfit for work when you roll out of bed in the morning. But I certainly see the attraction of wearing real clothes when it comes to a look like this 🙂

      Thank you!
Some days scrubs are great and I am so glad I can just throw them on and go, but other days it’s nice to have a break from “sea foam” green from head to toe.

Wow, I think this is my favorite outfit to date. It is so fresh, professional, and in vogue. You look slim as a model and this outfit is all class . Love very piece, and the color choices, too.

Thank you, Elle! I’ve been trying to figure out who to dress more professionally and while this outfit isn’t the best for clinic duty, it works well for business meetings

I always knew that doctors work too hard. Omg 80 hours a week is pretty cruel. I don’t know how you manage that and on top of that you look beautiful and classy. My work clothes are (most of the time) shirt, blazer and pants. Happy Saturday!!

Luckily 80 hours a week is only during med school and residency, so usually 7ish years. Once we’re done with that we have a more reasonable schedule, which is where I’m at now. Thank goodness. This outfit I only wear for office meeting, I would never survive in it all day in the clinic.

This outfit is polished, easy and office-ready. I love that the blazer is a jersey knit. Hope you have had a great March o far.

    Take care, Ada.

I certainly can feel your pain in regards to med school/residency. My SO is a doctor and those residency hours can be such a pain in the neck especially if ihe is in a rough rotation. Glad to hear you’ve been able to accumulate a few nice pieces of clothes along the way.

Thank you! I haven’t been into matching suit sets. They seem to formal for anywhere except an interview. Thanks for stopping by
