Southwestern in Old Town

Our first attempt at waking up at 4 AM to get to the hot air balloon festival was unsuccessful.  We got up later than planned, but still super early and got stuck in traffic.  The little one was so disappointed and I couldn’t stand seeing the big tears roll down his face when we realized we weren’t going to make it (we made it the next day, don’t worry!).  We decided to try and salvage the morning by taking him to his favorite are in town, Old Town.

We wandered around the area as the little shops and restaurants were preparing to open for the day.  One shop keeper gave the little one the day old balloon decorations he was taking down, which totally made his day!  He hopped and skipped all over Old Town bouncing his balloons on his wrist.

For the chilly morning, I layered an over-sized sweater with my favorite skinny jeans and booties and added on colorful blanket coat for a pop of pattern.  There is seriously nothing more cozy than a blanket coat!  The morning ended up being a pleasant and after filling up on breakfast burritos we headed home for a nap.

See the day we actually made it to the balloon fiesta here.

I’m glad you were able to make the most of it and still go somewhere fun despite not making it to the balloon fest that day. You both look adorable! I love your hat and that cozy-looking print coat!
